WILD MIND WRITING :>

IS THIS THE RIGHT COURSE FOR ME?

A simple four corner house with a beautiful garden sitting on an amazing landscape is probably one of the first drawings I ever made when I was little. Growing up with my family especially my Dad whom I ‘am most alike with really gave me interest in Arts. Since then, it became part of my personality and eventually my life. Whenever I got the chance to hold a pen, I always feel that I can express something from it whether how good or bad the outcome would be. My childhood days always remind me of how I developed my interest in this field and how it made me distinct among others. I embrace the feeling of having to express myself through art, and that’s probably why I chose Architecture as my course.

Being an architect needs Intellect, Patience, Consideration, Creativity and Uniqueness. Your work reflects how you perceive human needs and interests. Architecture covers such a wide aspect of art because of its versatility amongst all the other art forms around. Architecture does not only express the beauty of art but also understands man’s needs that make an architectural structure functional for man. This led me to Architecture. Being able to create living art forms that revolves around functionality making man’s life easier and better, creating monumental structures characterized by uniqueness and individuality. Simple, Sophisticated, Ergonomic, Modern, Complex, Structural—or whatever word we can associate it with, Architecture always revolves around your personality and creativity.

I knew then that this was the right course for me, because I come to school every day, Inspired and optimistic that when I finally become an architect I can fulfill my dreams, my aspirations, plans and everything that I have to offer and share it to mankind.

ARCHITECTURE IS A LANGUAGE

We say that Language is an expression, an art form, a distinct, unique and creative method of communication more likely used by humans in order to comprehend each other. However, language is depicted in numerous ways like through writings, signs and symbols, spoken language or maybe Structures, forms, curves, lines, space or in other words, Architecture. Architecture is a system, a process; Similar to Language, it deals with a variety of processes that we humans encounter. It is an expression of our feelings, thoughts, imaginations and everything associated with our brain. We can say that in many ways Architecture is a language because it gives us identity, it enables us to communicate, it is distinct among others and it uses human ability or intellect. Without Architecture, a certain place wouldn’t have their own identity and expression of their character and personality. Architecture being a language defies its versatility because it can be conveyed in many ways like through shapes, lines, curves, light and may others. It is a body of knowledge meant for man that not only lets us express ourselves but also provides us with our need of particular structures which aid human activities. Versatility is indeed a quality of Architecture, which is also why it is a language, a language that makes us human.

YOU AND COLOR

Ones personality sets you apart from anybody else. You might look ordinary but inside, you’re not, just like Color. Color is a product of the visual preceptors in our eyes that reacts to the light that interacts with it. There are an infinite number of colors in our environment, each having their own characteristic that makes it distinct. However, colors are also a representation of what we feel, an expression that speaks to us through our eyes. The world is not the same without color. Imagine living in a colorless world, blank and discreet, sad and lonely. This only proves that Colors are powerful. It can affect you and how you perceive things around you. Color is similar to emotions and feelings. A colorful room more likely expresses joy and happiness than a black or gray room.

A Color is different from one another not just because of the color itself, but the emotion it portrays. I can say that I ‘m similar to the color white because I’m neutral, plain yet there is something about me that is unique from others. Structures and interior spaces are given life with color depending on the mood the designer wants to portray. Considering I ‘m a modernist, I prefer white and black in most of my designs because it’s simple and plain, like me. Whatever the color is in a structure, it enhances the emotion it wants to portray that gives it character and depth.

Honestly, having to take up this Color rendering subject is very exciting. I ‘m really fond of using different mediums of color in art in different ways and applications. I expect that I would enhance my skills in Coloring and be able to have knowledge on Color combinations. Color is very significant especially in interior designing. I want to learn how I can apply color in spaces effectively and efficiently as well as Color psychology and Color theories.
